Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.   
We are now hiring a Full-Time Junior Staff Accountant to provide support in Princeton, NJ. The Junior Staff Accountant is responsible for all general ledger functions and contract compliance.
 
Responsibilities
  • Assist Staff Accountants with approval of Accounts Payable invoices for assigned regions
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations as assigned
  • Prepare and data enters general journal entries monthly/quarterly (as necessary)
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Assists Staff Accountants with budget templates set up and other budget tasks
  • Assist Staff Accountants with gathering of grants/contracts billing documentation
  • Assist with annual budget uploads in NetSuite as assigned
  • Preparation and submission and payment of sales taxes
  • Assist with preparation of FTE report for each payroll cycle
  • Collaborate with other members of the Fiscal team
  • Maintain contractual and general ledger files in an organized fashion as assigned
  • Prepare required documents for local, state, and federal government agencies
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
  • Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
Minimum Requirements
  • AAS in Accounting and two years’ related experience; or BS degree in accounting or related field from accredited education institution (or equivalent)
  • One to two years of related general accounting experience
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Commitment to and knowledge of community-based support for persons with disabilities
  • Knowledge of general accounting through general ledger
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
