Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Assistant Executive Director of IDD Services in Woodbury, NJ. The Assistant Executive Director works with the Executive Director to maintain a high-quality program in accordance with the mission statement, state, National office standards, and policies of Community Options Inc.
Responsibilities
Formulate and implement an advisory board which will assist the organization, and develop and expand their resources, thereby improving service delivery
Present a clear picture of issues related to local operations to the Executive Director and/or the National office, outlining possible solutions, and indicating advantages and disadvantages
Work in conjunction with the Executive Director to locate and recommend appropriate grant and funding opportunities to the National office
Institute and maintain appropriate management, financial and personnel controls, and provide the National office with the necessary documentation and paperwork
Promote and maintain the public image of Community Options, Inc., in the state and local area
Establish and maintain effective relationships with local, state, and governmental agencies
Participate in developing long and short-term department goals, objectives, and systems
May perform the duties of Community Support Staff as necessary, in accordance with current
Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with two years of IDD experience
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience
Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
