We are in search of an experiencedPsychological Associate in Rockville, MD. The Psychological Associate will focus on developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized behavior intervention plans for residents with diverse behavioral and psychological needs. The Psychological Associate will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including group home staff and healthcare professionals, to ensure the highest level of care is provided.
Starting pay is $90,000/annually
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor behavior plans for adults in group homes
Tailor each plan to address specific behavioral needs while ensuring goals are clear,measurable, and achievable
Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments to identify patterns, triggers, and the underlying causes of behaviors
Utilize various assessment tools and methodologies to inform plan development
Work with group home staff, case managers, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective plan implementation
Provide training and support to staff to ensure consistent execution of behavior strategies
Assist in crisis situations by providing guidance on de-escalation and managing challenging behaviors
Offer immediate interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff
Monitor and document residents' progress in relation to behavior plans
Make adjustments to plans as needed based on observed outcomes and ongoing assessments
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, including behavioral assessments, progress reports, behavior plans, and other required documentation
Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards
Advocate for the needs and rights of residents, ensuring they receive the necessary therapeutic services
Work closely with the team to access additional resources as necessary
Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
Employee must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in psychology, Behavioral Science, or a related field
Licensure: Psychological Associate certification or licensure in the state of MD (applicable to various states)
Minimum of one year of experience working with adults in group home settings or with individuals with developmental, emotional, or behavioral challenges
Experience in behavior assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of behavior interventions
Knowledge of mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, and behavioral challenges commonly seen in residential care settings
Strong understanding of behavioral interventions and evidence-based therapy techniques
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to conduct behavioral assessments and develop individualized behavior plans
Crisis management and de-escalation skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Empathetic, patient, and professional approach when working with vulnerable individuals
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building supportive relationships with residents and staff
