Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist in Wayne or Hillsborough, NJ. The Occupational Therapist provides quality occupational therapy services for patients through functional evaluation and treatments of individuals utilizing a variety of techniques including: activities of daily living, fabrication and application of splints, sensory motor activities. This position requires travel between Hillsborough and Wayne New Jersey Programs.
Responsibilities
Screens and identifies individuals who may have problems in occupational performance.
Evaluates the individual’s performance according to the Uniform Occupational Therapy Checklist.
Develops individual occupational therapy program indicating short and long-term goals.
Elects media, methods, environment, and personnel needs to accomplish goals.
Determines frequency and duration of occupational therapy services.
Formulates and implements the program according to the program plan.
Documents therapy services provided, and the client’s occupational performance.
Discharges clients when they have achieved the established goals and received maximum benefit from the services.
Periodically and systematically reviews all aspects of the individual occupational therapy program for effectiveness and efficiency.
Collaborates with client, family, and other professional and community resources.
May be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff
Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
Licensed by the State Board of Examiners in Occupational Therapy.
Registered with the American Occupational Therapy Association and NBOTA.
Ability to interact with patients, doctors and other personnel.
Ability to exercise good judgement and use common sense.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with a person receiving supports.
