Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. 

We are now seeking a Behavior Support Manager in Manhattan, NY. The Behavior Support Manager uses best practices within a community-based setting to teach people with developmental disabilities how to acquire the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills needed to live as independently as possible. This individual must be able to handle the pressure of training in a public environment, exercise patience, work with flexible schedules, and respond to crisis situations.

Starting Rate: $70,000/annually 


Responsibilities

  • Perform one on one observation and interaction with individuals
  • Complete functional behavioral assessments for identified individuals
  • Create prevention plans and support plans 
  • Train staff on implementation of plans
  • Participate in Circle(s) of Support for personal future planning
  • Prepare progress reports for consumer's immediate support group, including their family
    and/or guardian, staff, employment specialist, case manager, and other professionals
  • Serve as an active member of each person’s Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT), which includes
    involvement in Individual Habilitation Plan development
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or
    investigation
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background,
    central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Master’s degree in behavioral analysis, psychology, or related field
  • Minimum one year experience in the development and implementation of behavioral support
    plans
  • BCBA or BCaBA certification strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Supports
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and graph data
  • Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities
