Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are now hiring an Allied Clinical Therapist in Galloway, NJ to provide person-centered care tailored to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity for professional growth, while making a difference! The Allied Clinical Therapist will be responsible for providing clinical support services to our clients with disabilities, collaborating with other professionals, and maintaining accurate documentation. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment interventions.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions for clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient assessments, with goals and objectives that are measurable, realistic and achievable
  • Monitor and assess client progress throughout treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to provide comprehensive care to clients
  • Assist patients in developing social, communication, and life skills
  • Provide support and education to clients and their families regarding the diagnosis, treatment and management of intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress and treatment plans
  • Attend team meetings and participate in case conferences to discuss client progress and treatment plans
  • Stay current on best practices and evidence-based interventions for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, or counseling
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • At least one year of experience providing clinical support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
Working Conditions
  • May be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff
  • Must also be able to travel to client homes and other community settings
  • Frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion may be required
  • May be required to transport individuals utilizing your own vehicle or company provided vehicles
  • May be required to lift or move 25+ pounds
  • May assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory individuals
  • May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases
