Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states..
This Director of Community Services is responsible for developing and managing in- home supports,  residential services, community-based services,. This person will maintain high-quality programs in accordance with state and local regulations. 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop new programs including in - home supports, family model, host homes, and community based services, and liaison with managed care organizations 
  • Lead and train teams to support programmatic initiatives, goals, daily routines, and the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Assess referrals for nonresidential services.
  • Develop new in-home supports, family model, host homes, and community-based services.
  • Oversee daily operations of in-home supports, residential group homes and community- based services.
  • Liaison with referral sources to identify program placement opportunities 
  • Ensure programs are in compliance with state licensing and reporting standards
  • Assist with quality assurance and program improvement activities with a focus on improving current policies, practices, and procedures. 
  • Provide training on programs, policies, and procedures to improve service delivery 
  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, and performance management.
  • Assist with monitoring and managing overtime
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned 
  • Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field required.
  • Masters Degree Preferred
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or behavioral health 
  • Experience working with behavior challenged children and adults
  • Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience 
  • Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities 
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and remain calm in crisis situations 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent time management skills
