Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are now hiring Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Caregivers, Direct Care Staff, Home Health Aides in Westfield, NJ to provide person-centered care tailored to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Daily Plan It is a complete office, conference and copy center that offers beautifully furnished office rental space or virtual tenancy to a variety of businesses. Employees receive valuable work experience in areas such as customer service, inventory management, quality and database management, as well as facilities maintenance.
General Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid/Current Driver’s License
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of employees within the company.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, push/pull, reach, and stand/walk for periods of time.
- May transport participants in own vehicle (if applicable)
General Duties:
- Assists individuals with their Prevocational and independent community skills
- Utilizes Person Centered Plans to assess an individual's needs
- Completes training with individuals towards achieving ISP goals.
- Administers medication(s) and completes appropriate documentation.
- Accompanies individuals to and from activities.
- Builds a support network between the individuals and community members.
Working Conditions
- Work in day programs, and in the community
- Transport individuals utilizing your own vehicle or company provided vehicles
- May be required to lift or move 25+ pounds
