Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. 

We are actively seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) / Training Coordinator in Corpus Christi, TX. The Quality Assurance (QA) / Training Coordinator is responsible for developing a comprehensive training program to teach staff how to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This person is responsible for maintaining the training program, which includes conducting trainings and ensuring staff are in compliance with state regulations and company policy.

Responsibilities

  •  Maintain and update training tracking spreadsheet and record keeping system
  •  Schedule and conduct QA audits of financial, personnel files to include training records, 
    medication administration records, medical records, Therap and billing documentation
  • Maintain current list of certified trainers and notify trainers when certifications are due for renewal and secure documentation upon completion for trainer records
  •  Conduct physical site inspections of homes and programs
  •  Coordinate training logistics, including assigning trainers, manage training material, track attendance sheets and handle training room schedule
  •  Maintain and continuously audit all training documentation, ensuring compliance with state and company requirements
  • Submit quarterly report cards to the National Compliance and QA Director and to the Regional/State Director
  •  Conduct 30-day initial audit of all new homes and programs
  •  Represent Community Options at community information/education events including job fairs
  •  Manage performance and complete staff evaluations for any direct reports
  •  Communicate non-compliance of required training to supervisors and employees and work to resolve issue
  •  Maintain trainer certifications in the following areas: medication administration, crisis intervention and CPR/first aid
  •  Confer with direct supervisor to gain knowledge of specific work situations requiring employees  to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies
  • Serve as a member of the National & Local QA committees
  •  Schedule and conduct training sessions covering specified areas, such as, new employee 
    orientation, on-the-job training, consumer service, safety practices, promotional, and leadership development
  •  Maintain tracking information and send notice to staff when they are due for training, or other 
    documents required for state regulations
  •  Follow through to obtain documentation for staff records
  •  Oversee all trainers
  •  Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or Investigation

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or
  •  High school diploma/GED plus three years of training experience
  • Certified trainer: crisis intervention
  •  Medication administration trainer
  •  CPR/First aid certified instructor
  •  Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  •  Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
  •  Knowledge and understanding of local regulatory agency operations
  •  Working knowledge of management of an effective QA program, including training, monitoring, conducting and documenting investigations, addressing violations and monitoring corrective actions

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities
  •  While performing the duties of the job, employee travels by automobile, utilizing own vehicle, and is exposed to changing weather conditions
  •  Travels throughout a designated region
  •  Minimal hazards, general office working conditions
  •  Flexible schedule as determined by supervisor
  •  May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable disease
